Key Accountabilities

l        Accountable to line manager for the procurement deliverables in China, measured by performance.

l        Lead the implementation of base oil sourcing arrangements that assures alignment with the global strategies of the respective procurement categories.

l        Understand business needs and collaborate with line manager to identify opportunities and develop necessary solutions to materialize the anticipated value.

l        Build effective relationships with Sinopec and Petro China to promote company as a preferred customer and manages suppliers’ operational performance.

l        Sourcing other alternative base oil source in China as a supplement

l        Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders (including manufacturing, technology, marketing & sales personnel) to achieve the purpose of this role.

l        Effective understanding of base oil supply market environment in China.

l        Delivery of cost-saving projects on base oil and enable timely reporting of benefits, measured by cost-saving projects.

l        Ensure compliance with required company policies covering HSE, Ethics, Code of Conduct and Procurement Guiding Principles, measured by performance.

  Essential criteria & qualifications

l        A degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

l        A post graduate certification in business study is advantageous but not critical.

l        Proactive, consistent to relationship development with suppliers

l        More than five years working experience with good track record in a commercial role (such as sales, marketing or procurement) or a marketing technical support role with demonstrated flair for a commercial position.

l        Proficient in Chinese and English.

l        Feasible to travel domestically and internationally.

Desirable criteria & qualifications

l        An effective team player.

l        Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with suppliers and Local Governments.

l        Good knowledge of base oil supply market environment is desirable.

l        Good commercial acumen.

l        Be able to get along well different levels within the organization.

l        Demonstrate effective technical understanding of specialty chemicals and their applications. Knowledge of their usage in lubricants is a plus.

l        Proven performance track record in the past years.
